In 1997 Chess was commissioned to build a complex conveyor sorting system, which had to interface with other contractor’s equipment including the mail-handling machine.

The conveyor delivered letters and small parcels at considerable speeds to coding and sorting machines. After a trip to Perth to explore the same type of equipment, and by working closely with the client an excellent result was achieved.

This turnkey project was designed and manufactured entirely in-house and proved that Chess’s ability to meet challenge and achieve excellence in the process.
