Mobile Median Strips
The medians strips are powered
by hydraulic motors drawing on an electrical connection
at the anchor point. Remote control allows for rapid
repositioning and eliminates the need for staff to
mix with moving traffic reducing the risk of accident to
road users.
The strips comprise a series of master and slave units
linked together by heavy duty hinges. Up to 130
metres can be assembled with both built-in straight and
curved sections. Spring -loaded rollers are installed
to allow the units to withstand heavy vehicle loads. They
are also impact resistant.
When compared with other movable systems, the ’s
medians are faster, safer and less costly to operate as
they eliminate the need for manned special purpose vehicles
to move them.
Allowing traffic managers to cope with high volume traffic
and locations such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the
motorised medians are used for lane closures, intersection
control and tidal flow applications - wherever there
is a need to maximise road use and improve traffic flow.
